A route for your senses
A great online route of 289 km in stages, to do on mountain bike or gravel, practically flat and that admits a basic level, both physical and technical.

The route covers the whole of the three branches of the Canal de Castilla (North Branch, Campos Branch and South Branch) between the provinces of Palencia and Valladolid.

The Canal de Castilla is an artificial waterway that represented a great hydraulic work of the 18th and 19th centuries. It was one of the most important civil engineering projects of Enlightenment Spain. The main purpose of its construction was to serve as a waterway for communication and transport, solving the problem of isolation of the plateau to transport agricultural products from the region. It was not only a means of communication, it was also used to irrigate the dry fields of Castile. With this proposal you will be able to enjoy the history, the vast landscapes of Tierra de Campos, large and ancient Romanesque churches, the characteristic light of the plateau, the wildlife that inhabits the banks of the canal and savour the tranquillity of its pleasant paths and lose yourself in the horizon of the Castilian plateau.

In the last stages, passing through the province of Valladolid, you will enter the Cigales Wine Route, where you can enjoy a wine tasting and sampling of wines with the Cigales Designation of Origin, a visit to a winery and the Wine Museum.
